A good friend of Doug's,  John H. Wolfe brought him on a shopping trip to Dick's Country Store in New York State where Doug found his new guitar.

Doug was putting together the concept of adding more props to accentuate the stage name of the Canadian Troubadour. Thinking the guitar was made of plastic, Doug actually walked away from the guitar and store with nothing in his hands.

Doug began to think he made a big mistake and asked his friend John to bring him back to the same store that same afternoon. Doug learned that the guitar was actually made of mahogany and painted white. A much easier sale at that point and the rest is now history.

With his first Stetson hat and stage name Canadian Troubadour, Doug wanted to create a stronger image with the guitar to represent Canada. In October of 2017, he was practicing for the Valley Search For A Star competition in the Adirondacks at the base of White Face Mountain in New York. His new stage shirts were just arriving in a week to give a more professional look on stage.

Doug's practicing was very welcome with the folks around the evening camp fire. It is always a pleasure to see how well received Canadians are around the world, including by our neighbours to the south.
